I'm not sure if I spelled her name correctly...
in my critical issues class one of our projects was to partner up with someone and draw their portrait, but it had to be "post-modern". The first thing I had to do was define post-modern more clearly for myself; not so easy, lol. I forget my reasoning now, as to why it's post modern, though I do rememebr trying to glue leaves coated in tape to the picture- they fell off, but the glue remained. I claimed I left the glue on purpose because its shine added another dimension to the picture and to the mixed media aspect of post modernism...
umm.... yeaaaaaaah.... *shifty eyed*
My partner was Brittany, she's very elfish in both attitude and interest (very sweet girl, hard core LotR fan, I do believe, and a nature lover as well) so I tried to make her look modest/gentle, ya know elf-like? I suppose.. .XD Anywho that's why I incorporated the vines.
As well I don't usually use borders in my work, but since I had in mind doing this portrait like a character study I decided to use them for the first time... and break through them, for some reason ^^.
The one thing that pisses me off is the eye on the left - a portrait isn't a portrait unless you nail the eyes, and when I was inking this I blew it - GAH!
The prof told us to use pencil crayon, and the entire class complained... apparently no one else appreciates them. I was just sitting there thinking "Yay, pencil crayons! score!!!" I am 4 years old...
Camera = crap, so lots of detail in the hair is lost. goddamn.
