nooses

Alrighty, this was my fourth project for painting class. We had to do knots, and the teacher gave us sheeets of paper photocopied from a book of diagrams that show you how to make knots.
Most randomly, I got the sheet of nooses. ^^ Very unfitting to me, so I decided to go with it - I tried to paint the nooses as accurately as I could (the rope folding and turning and tieing in all the right places) but the colours and the textures are totally opposite to what they're supposed to be symbols for - bright colours, almost vine like rope (the red in it, not as bright as irl, kinda reminds me of rhubarb), fuzzy ropes in the background...

fun times. It gave me a headache. First, I can't decide which way is up. At the moment I think it's most effective horrizontally like this, but sometimes I wonder if vertical is better - and if so, which way? ACK!

I wish I could redo it, but I havbe no energy for this one anymore.

36 by 40 again...

Poor image quality, I know - the beauty of my digital camera. I tried turning off the flash but it still went off, washing out a bit of the colour and details, but what can you do.
